Day 24 Son of DDDY Challenge: Most bloat gone, and really, just boring me today....but info on SPAWN Challenge is out now...

Scale: 241.2

Back to weight on Tuesday. As I've eaten at or under caloric level for challenge, I assume there's anothe 1/5th of a pound loss lurking there. :)

I am still wanting salty. I had a salty carby dinner last night, but yesterday came in UNDER 1600 cals and at almost 200 oz fluids.

Really, have not much to say. I posted already today on other topics, so I guess I'll just log my food. I do enjoy the cooler weather we're having and my curls are gonna be getting a protein treatment tomorrow so I can have perky sproings for the weekend. See...boring... :)

Oh, hang on, this is not boring: Allan posted some more info on the next challenge phase that starts on the 7th. Read it at his blog, and get the new (weird, hah) badge, but here's a snippet:

From you I need an email on Sunday with your blog name, your email address, your starting weight and your goal weight. From there I will compute everything and send you via email a packet with instructions. As of right now the packet is 20 pages long. The instructions are very simple, and the Challenge is for your benefit not to make you mental. We are working on the Christmas and New Year's Eve parts this weekend.

Sometimes craving salt means that you are deficient in iodine which is an extremely important nutrient for thyroid health. You don't wanna mess with that. My suggestion is to find some foods with iodine that you can work into your diet - maybe eggs, spinach, pecans . . .I can't remember off the top of my head but I'm sure you know how to use a search engine :)

I hope that helps!

I have hypothyroidism and, interestingly, my thyroid doesn't process iodine right, so I actually will get an allergic/rash reaction if I eat a lot of high-iodine stuff (and break out). I do sometimes use iodized salt and I eat some processed/canned foods (they generally are salted). I eat eggs adn spinach frequently (coincidentally had spinach and eggs for breakfast today). Pain in ye butt to be sensitive to so many things.

I don't worry too much about salt intake, now that I drink an Great Lake everyday. LOL

YAY. I'm ready for the challenge although I think I'll probably be one of the "lightweights" which makes me feel a bit, er, underqualified.
;-)

Salty was calling me yesterday too. I saw a jar of gherkins(pickles) in the cupboard and knew that I could eat the whole jar. I think yesterday I could have just eaten salt by the spoonful. I've only had salt cravings that bad when I was pregnant so I'm wondering if it isn't hormonal after all.

I'm usually a sugar cravings kind of person but salt gets me too. I didn't eat it though because the thought of not having another loss this week slays me. I just don't want the water retention.

Come on 30's. They are just around the corner for you...

You talk about bloat a lot, but are you sure they aren't just natural fluctuations? Even if you have a saltier meal the amount of water you drink should stop it being such an issue.
